RC Camera Mod User Guide

Interface Overview

RC Camera Mod Display On Rendering

The modifier contains a single rollout — Display On Rendering — with three groups controlling how objects are treated during rendering from this camera.

List Objects

A manually managed list of objects tracked by this modifier.

Object list
Displays all objects currently tracked by this modifier. Right-click the list to access additional selection and deletion options: Select All, Select By Selection Sets, Select Invert, Delete Selected, Delete By Selection Sets, and Delete All.

Pick
Click to pick objects directly in the viewport. Hold Ctrl to pick multiple objects one after another without re-clicking the button. Cameras and their targets are excluded automatically.

By List
Opens the standard 3ds Max Select by Name dialog to add objects to the list in bulk.

Delete
Removes the selected entries from the list. Selection can be made in the list before clicking.

Renderable Override

Controls how the Renderable property is overridden during rendering.

List

  • By Object: Uses each object's own Renderable property without any override.
  • On: Forces all objects in the list to be renderable.
  • Off: Forces all objects in the list to be non-renderable.

Other Scene Objects

  • By Object: No override — each object's own Renderable property is used.
  • On: Forces all unlisted objects to render.
  • Off: Forces all unlisted objects to be excluded from the render.

Preview

Toggles a viewport display filter that visually reflects the current modifier settings, so you can verify the visibility configuration without rendering.

Preview
When enabled, objects that would be hidden during rendering are also hidden in the viewport. Only one camera's modifier can be previewed at a time — enabling Preview on another camera automatically disables the previous one. The preview state is reset when the modifier panel is closed.
